Although his introduction to lawn bowling was a meer two months ago, David Ice won the JPLBC Novice Tournament from a field of 12 bowlers. Ice was the only player to win all four of his matches under the blue skies of August and the drone of the Blue Angels.
The Novice champion happened upon Jefferson Park while looking for a venue to host a birthday party. One brief lesson later and he, his wife, his sister and his mom were hooked.
There was plenty of competition on the greens, with many matches coming down to the wire.

We took 12 bowlers to North Burnaby today and played two games of ten ends each. We keep the trophy, wining a hard fought five games to three. A big thank you to our gracious hosts at North Burnaby for a great day of bowling and camaraderie. If you're a member and didn't make to N. Burnaby this year, make sure to schedule time to go on our visit to White Rock B.C. in 2007.
