The NW Division Short Jack Pairs was held at King City in Oregon on May 16 and 17th. This was in conjunction with the NW Division Spring Meeting which was held after bowling completed on Saturday, May 16th.
Warm weather finally arrived and bowling on Saturday and Sunday was under cloudless skies with temperatures in the mid 80's.
10 teams contest for the title of Short Jack Pairs Champion and the bowling was very competitive as 3 teams tied for first place and I had to resort to + points to determine a winner. Seattle teams figured prominently in the results as Its and Nancy Nishikawa of Jefferson Park came out as Champions. Second place went to Roger Green of Woodland Park and Nita Chambers of Jefferson Park were second. Jeff Covell and Andy Kluberud of woodland Park were third.
This was the first time at King City for this tournament and King City were gracious hosts, Roger Reimer, Larry Edgar and Bob Campbell did a sterling job to prepare the greens and provide a very social atmosphere for the tournament. All NW bowlers should consider playing in this tournament in the future to enjoy a competitive fun time.
