Lots to do – and every little bit helps, we need you!

In the spirit of an open and welcoming community, we strive to keep membership fees affordable and still maintain the club at high standards. To accomplish that, the club needs every member to give what they can: time, special skills, ideas and leadership. Our club is bowler-powered and run by the hard work and efforts of our members. We have no paid staff and committee chairs need volunteers to help with every aspect of maintaining the club facility and programs. What category of contribution(s) fit for you?!

JPLBC functions at the helm of elected board officers. The board meets monthly to discuss club issues. Board meetings are open to all members who want to participate. In addition to the Board Officers there are supporting roles that oversee areas of the Club activities, maintenance and support. The President shall preside at all membership meetings of the club and shall chair all meetings of the Board; shall perform such other duties usually undertaken by a presiding officer; shall be an ex-officio non-voting member of all committees; and shall appoint all standing and special committee chairman.
The Secretary shall keep and publish an accurate record of the proceedings of all meetings, and keep a record of all tournament proceedings within the club or other clubs, as provided by the Games Chairperson. The Secretary shall also prepare and mail notices of all Special meetings as prescribed in article 8.3.3 of the by-laws and ballots and notice of elections as prescribed in article 9.5 of the by-laws. The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping and dispensing the official club membership list, as provided by the Membership Chairperson.
The Treasurer shall collect all funds due the club from all sources, giving proper credit when so collected, deposit such funds as are collected in such bank or banks as the Board may designate, be custodian of all club funds and keep a record of the financial transactions of the club. The Treasurer, President, Vice-President, or other Board member approved by the Board, shall be authorized to sign checks or drafts in the name of the club. The Treasurer shall, upon request of the Financial Review Committee, surrender all books, vouchers and other records necessary for reviewing purposes. The Treasurer may design and instigate a voucher system to be used by all club members to submit and recover expenses related to club activities
Oversees all exterior maintenance aside from the greens.
Tournament Chair manages all aspects of our onsite tournaments.
This is not a single person. Each League is managed by a 1 (or 2) people. The responsibilities vary based on the size and competitive nature of the league, but the general job description includes:

  1. Recruitment and communications to promote league
  2. Roster management
  3. Fee collection
  4. Permits is applicable
  5. Management of league structure
  6. Oversee set-up – break-down
  7. Track and communicate standings

This position oversees the incoming new and renewing membership applications, manages the name tags for new members and keeps the membership database up to date.
This role covers member based communications such as the monthly newsletter.
The website management role oversees the design /maintenance/content updates on our WordPress website. The rentals chairperson manages all aspects of club/greens rentals. From incoming inquires all the way thru onsite management for events.
Takes care of monitoring and procuring clubhouse supplies/provisions. Kitchen stuff, coffee, TP, paper towels, grill propane etc.
Member kindness support. Get well cards, condolence flowers etc.
