ALCOHOL POLICY
Our Commitment
Jefferson Park Lawn Bowling Club (JPLBC) supports the responsible consumption of alcohol and takes seriously any inappropriate behavior that results from excessive drinking. Illegal or drug use will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
What we will do
Alcohol Consumption
Alcohol will be consumed in compliance with the requirements of our JPLBC’s lease, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) rules, Washington State law and in accordance with the safety and well-being of members and patrons.
A Washington State Banquet permit must be displayed any time alcohol is consumed at JPLBC.
No alcohol may be consumed anytime the club is open to the public.
No alcohol may be consumed outside of the JPLBC clubhouse or the fenced area that contains the greens.
No person under the age of 21 will be permitted to consume alcohol.
Excessive or rapid consumption of alcohol will be discouraged.
Smoking
All of Seattle Parks are smoke free and smoking is not allowed. For more information refer to Seattle Parks Rules & Regulations. Smoking is allowed in public rights-of-way, including sidewalks.
Illegal drug use
Use of illegal drugs will not be tolerated within the clubhouse or grounds under any circumstances.
Any patron found to be under the influence of illegal substances while on JPLBC’s premises will be asked to leave and recommended safe transport options.
Public Events
There will be no alcohol consumed at public events by either JPLBC members or the public.
Any person who consumes alcohol at a public event will asked to leave.
What we ask you to do
All members are required to comply with the following:
When consuming alcohol a Washington State banquet permit must be displayed.
Absolutely no alcohol is allowed at public events.
Absolutely no alcohol is permitted outside of the club house or the fence greens area
Drink and behave responsibly at all club functions and event.
Do not supply alcohol to JPLBC members if they are aged under 21.
Do not encourage others to drink alcohol excessively.
Do not smoke within JPLBC property.
Do not bring illegal drugs into the clubhouse, or to any club-related events.
Non-Compliance
JPLBC will take action for breaches of behavior and responsibilities outlined in this policy.
A member who violates the alcohol and illegal drug policy will be asked to leave the premises at the time of the violation.
A member who repeatedly violates this policy will be referred to the JPLBC board for disciplinary action. This action may result in:
The member being suspended from the club for a period of up to one month.
Repeat violations may result in the member having their membership revoked. If a membership is revoked the remaining membership cost will be refunded to the member.
Allowing anyone under 21 to consume alcohol is a criminal offence that can be reported to the police and the relevant authority by minors and their parents.
